The 241’s
Performing Friday, October 11th.
Some folks may find it hard to believe that a bunch of punks would start a country band. Hanging out in bars and in other bands it winds up being a pretty familiar tale. Musicians often want to get to the roots of the music or artists they admire. It always wound up being classic country, outlaws and the origins of the honky-tonk sound that would get the conversations going. Then the guitars came out and our story began.
Fox bought a pedal steel and Ian started writing. Mutt volunteered to sing and with a couple line up changes later we got Jeff and Aaron. Leaning heavily into the honky tonk sounds of the 50s through the 80s we write music we want to hear. We can keep’ em slow and sad, or we can blow the doors off the place. Always being authentic to the past and ourselves. We have a great time making music and a lot of laughs along the way.
